Tyson Beckford, the protagonist of the RECA Group’s Spring-Summer 2010 campaign, goes back to modelling for Ralph Lauren, the brand that made him famous twenty years ago in 1993. Tyson, who was recently in the news for a no-clothing photo-shoot with the transgender model Ines Rau, says he’s proud of this reunion with a brand which he admires on a professional level and with which he identifies as a man and as a consumer. In a recent interview Tyson went further, denouncing the continuing presence of racist attitudes in the world of fashion but praising Ralph Lauren for the multi-racial and anti-discriminatory image it has promoted over the years.
