French architect and town planner Christian De Portzamparc has completed the extraordinary new store designed to display the creations of Maison Dior in Seoul: a corner building which projects its highly particular spell on the city’s skyline. In its new garment, inspired by the tailored design style which has made the brand famous all over the world, the building consists of two contrasting but complementary moods: one side features rectangular shapes and evokes the male side of fashion, while the main façade expresses feminine inspiration through the majestic sinuous lines of huge white resin sails which seem to billow gracefully towards the sky with all the fluttering softness of a haute couture dress.

 

L’architetto e urbanista francese Christian De Portzamparc ha ultimato la nuova, straordinaria struttura che ospiterà le creazioni della Maison Dior a Seoul: un’architettura d’angolo che impone il proprio charme sul panorama cittadino. L’edificio, ispirato al design sartoriale che ha reso famoso il marchio nel mondo, è composto da due anime contrastanti e complementari: un lato, caratterizzato da linee squadrate, interpreta l’indole maschile della moda, mentre la facciata principale affida ogni ispirazione di femminilità a delle maestose e sinuose vele di resina, che si lanciano verso il cielo con la morbidezza fluttuante di un abito d’haute couture.
