Furniture design meets clothing accessories, as you sit down on a folding label The Canadian designer Félix Guyon has designed a clever Label Chair for the Canadian brand “La Firme”. The Label Chair is a highly versatile, ironic and elegant design object, practical as a convenient folding seat and surreal as a decorative furnishing item: once folded it becomes a giant clothes label, easy to pile or else hang on the wall like a painting. Made entirely of Russian birch wood and stainless steel, this seat can be personalised for events or points of sale. Its surfaces are smooth as silk, and once folded its thickness does not exceed 25 millimetres. It comes in three different varieties. “La Firme” was created through an alliance between artists, designers and companies sharing the desire to propose new ideas for the future of industrial design. The focus on technical sophistication, the maniacal attention paid to aesthetic excellence, the innovative use of surprising materials and the priority placed on environmental sustainability combine to make “La Firme” one of the most interesting combos currently active in North America and beyond. Great job, Felix. This is the kind of design we like: simple, original and elegant.

La Label chair è un oggetto di design estremamente versatile ed elegante, utile nella modalità sedia e accattivante come oggetto decorativo, in quanto una volta piegata, assume l’inequivocabile sagoma del cartellino; è facilmente impilabile oppure (perché no?) esposta a parete. Realizzata interamente in betulla russa e acciaio inossidabile, può essere personalizzata per eventi o punti vendita, la superficie è liscia come seta e una volta piegata assume lo spessore di soli 25 millimetri, è inoltre disponibile in tre varietà. “La Firme” nasce dall’incontro tra artisti, designers e imprese, interessati ad proporre nuove idee per il futuro del disegno industriale, la sofisticazione tecnica, l’interesse maniacale nell’estetica, l’attenzione per i materiali e il design “eco” rende “La firme” uno dei combo attualmente più interessanti, in Nord America e non solo. Davvero un bel lavoro Félix, questo è il design che ci piace: semplice ed elegante.
