The New York photographer and video-maker presents a series of vivid photographic portraits of some of the best known faces in music. An exhibition by Francesco Carrozzini – a multi-facetted artist with a passion for music and its creators – has recently concluded in Paris. Director of important music videos (e.g. featuring Lana del Ray, Beyoncé and Sia), Carrozzini has also published major shoots in the most prestigious international magazines, including Vanity Fair, Vogue and New York Magazine. The exhibition in Paris offered a highly personal photographic exploration – much of which had never been previously shown – featuring some of the most famous names in the music world. Carrozzini’s aesthetic identity gives cohesion to the collection, but in an eclectic and constantly changing way, as though in search of dialogue, even through intimate collisions, according to the personality of his subjects. And thus capturing their essence in images which then set up dialogues with the spectator… like silent music in their heads.

Regista di importanti video musicali (sue alcune produzioni per Lana del Ray, Beyoncé e Sia), Carrozzini ha firmato servizi fotografici per alcune delle più famose testate internazionali, tra cui Vanity Fair, Vogue e New York Magazine. Nella capitale francese ha presentato un personale percorso di ricerca composto da ritratti fotografici – alcuni dei quali completamente inediti – nei quali l’artista new yorkese cattura lo spirito di alcune delle più note personalità del mondo musicale. Sotto il comune tratto della propria sensibilità artistica, Carrozzini assume sembianze eclettiche e cangianti per entrare in collisione con la parte più intima dei propri soggetti, catturandone l’essenza e restituendo immagini che instaurano dialoghi profondi e melodici con lo spettatore.
