Ports 1961 is never one to pass unnoticed. To this end the fashion house has just finished a stunning new street façade for its Shanghai flagship store. Developed by the Canadian UUFIE studio, this frontage absolutely captures the eye on a key street corner in the city’s shopping district. The entire lower part of the building has been clothed in a three-dimensional crystal skin composed of glass and stainless steel which gleams with reflected and refracted sunlight by day and glimmers with countless integrated led light sources like an icy lantern by night.

 

Ports1961 è determinato a farsi notare. A questo scopo la casa di moda ha appena terminato un efficace intervento di facciata che permetterà al flagship store di Shanghai di non passare inosservato… Il progetto, sviluppato dallo studio canadese UUFIE, dona alla struttura l’aspetto di un iceberg luminoso arenato all’angolo del distretto commerciale cittadino. L’intero edificio è stato avvolto in una pelle vitrea tridimensionale, composta da cellule in forma di cristallo che riflettono la luce del giorno; mentre, al calare del sole, un circuito led integrato trasforma la struttura in un’immensa lanterna che illumine la notte.
